PARKSEOBO MUSEUM

서울시 서대문구 연희로 24길 9-54, 

연희동에 위치한 본 미술관은 박서보의 예술과 그가 남긴 정신을 바탕으로 설립되었습니다. 우리는 그의 작품 세계를 연구하고 전시함으로써 그 의미를 동시대의 맥락 속에서 새롭게 조명하고자 합니다.

박서보는 권위나 관행에 기대기보다 가능성과 재능을 기준으로 새로운 작가들을 발굴하고, 그들이 더 넓은 세계와 만날 수 있도록 길을 열어 왔습니다. 우리는 그 정신을 이어 창작자들이 자유롭게 역량을 펼치고 국제적인 무대로 나아갈 수 있는 기반을 마련하고자 합니다.

이를 통해 박서보의 예술이 오늘의 시간 속에서 살아 숨 쉬도록 하고, 동시대 미술과의 지속적인 대화를 이어가고자 합니다.

PARKSEOBO MUSEUM was founded upon the art of Park Seo-Bo and the spirit he left behind. Through the research and presentation of his work, we seek to reinterpret its significance within the context of our time.

Rather than relying on authority or convention, Park Seo-Bo believed in recognizing possibility and talent. Throughout his life, he discovered and supported emerging artists, helping them find opportunities to engage with the wider world. Inspired by this legacy, we strive to create an environment where artists can develop their creative potential freely and connect with the international art community.

In doing so, we hope to ensure that Park Seo-Bo's artistic legacy remains a living presence today, while fostering an ongoing dialogue with contemporary art.

공간 구성

SPACE PLAN

미술관은 지하 2층, 지상 3층으로 구성된 건물입니다. 연세대학교 건축과 최문규 교수가 건축설계를, 기유온건축(정윤석, 양기란)이 내부설계를 했으며, 3년의 공사기간을 거쳐 완공되었습니다. 

각 층마다 작은 정원이 구비되어 있어 여느 전시장과는 다른 느낌을 받을 수 있습니다. 특히 3층에 위치한 Cube 공간은 8m높이의 정사각형 공간으로 반투명 유리로 둘러 쌓여 있어 외부의 빛이 쏟아져 들어옵니다.

The museum is housed in a five-story building with two basement levels and three floors above ground. The architectural design was led by Professor Choi Moon-Gyu of Yonsei University’s Department of Architecture, while the interior design was undertaken by Kiyuon Architecture (Jeong Yunseok and Yang Kiran). The building was completed after three years of construction.

Each floor features a small garden, offering a museum experience that feels distinct from a conventional exhibition space. In particular, the Cube on the third floor is an eight-meter-high square gallery enclosed by translucent glass, allowing natural light to pour into the space throughout the day.

미술관의 주차장이 매우 협소하여 대중교통을 이용하시는 것을 추천합니다. 

• 신촌역(2호선) 3번 출구에서 [서대문 03] 마을버스 탑승 후 '한성화교중고등학교' 정류장에서 하차 (15분 소요)
• 홍대역(2호선) 4번 출구에서 '동교동삼거리'정류장으로 이동 후, [7720, 110A, 163] 버스 탑승 후 '한성화교중고등학교' 정류장에서 하차(15분 소요)

• From Sinchon Station (Line 2)
  Take Exit 3 and board Seodaemun 03 Village Bus. Get off at Overseas Chinese Middle & High School bus stop. (Approx. 15 minutes)
• From Hongik Univ. Station (Line 2)
  Take Exit 4 and walk to the Donggyo-dong Samgeori bus stop. Board bus 7720, 110A, or 163, and get off at Overseas Chinese Middle & High School bus stop. (Approx. 15 minutes)
